History

The journey of us began with a simple idea: to make transportation and deliveries more accessible, efficient, and safe for everyone. Founded in 2010, our mission was clear from the start—revolutionize the way people move and receive goods by leveraging technology. We started small, offering taxi services in Indonesia, but quickly grew as more people saw the convenience of booking rides through a mobile app. As our user base expanded, so did our vision. We introduced delivery services, enabling customers to send and receive packages quickly, safely, and affordably. Whether it ss getting a ride or having groceries delivered, we aimed to provide solutions that simplified daily life.

From the land of Jakarta - 20 motorcycle taxis, 1 call centre, and a mission to remove friction from people's lives. Gojek (then GO-JEK) begins to paint the town green.

2015

Milestones 2015

Enter the Gojek app. Orders explode from 3,000 to 100,000 a day. Operations expand beyond Jakarta. Enter food delivery, ticket bookings, and more. Series A funding flows in.

2016

Gojek becomes Indonesia's first unicorn. Orders jump to 300,000 a day.

Integrates Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam apps into one, under Gojek. GoFood becomes the world's most helpful and user-friendly app during the pandemic.* Crosses 190 million app downloads.

Gojek and Tokopedia unite to form GoTo, the largest tech group in Indonesia and the “go to” ecosystem for daily life
